Another Card Challenge

Good afternoon!  I hope you are all enjoying this Monday.  The weather is HOT and HUMID here and I am off to work in a very few minutes.  Not looking forward to walking to the bus stop in it that's for sure.

This is a card I made for the challenge here at Cricut Cardz Challenge.  I discovered Mary and her blog through Made by Momo and am enjoying watching her videos at YouTube as well as listening to the music.  I am hoping this becomes a weekly challenge that I can participate in.  The challenge was to use brads or eyelets on a card and my flowers have 3 brad centers.

Supplies Used:

Plantin Schoolbook and "Just Because Cards" Cricut cartridges

My Pink Stamper Simply Sweet Occasions stamp set

All paper, ribbon, brads and flowers are just misc. from my stash

Enjoy!  I am off to work.  Have a great day, my friends.  Thanks for visiting and please leave me a comment so that I can come and visit you.  Followers are always welcome too if you want to continue to see what I am up to.

Card for MPS Father's Day Challenge

Good morning friends!

I worked on another challenge yesterday that I found on Robyn "My Pink Stamper"'s website here: Father's Day Challenge.  Since I was planning to do a Father's Day card anyhow it was great that there was a challenge that made me do it faster.  And I know my Dad looks here (HI DAD....waving!) so maybe he is getting this one and maybe he is not.  He will have to wait and see.  But he does love to wear his cowboy boots so that was the inspiration for this card when I saw the cowboy boot cut on "Just Because Cards".

Supplies Used:

"Just Because Cards" Cricut cartridge, boot and layers cut at 3"

Michaels Value Pack cardstock and Creative Memories paper

Stamp by Inkadinkadoo

Misc. twine, button and star

Thanks for checking it out.  Have a wonderful Sunday!!!

Card for A Colour Challenge

Happy Saturday everyone!

I decided to join a few card challenges this week so that I would actually accomplish something in that pretty new pink scrapbook room.  This card is for the challenge at Made By Momo and was a colour challenge to use aqua/blue, orange and white in a project.  Those fun colours remind me of the beach so I pulled out my Life is a Beach Cricut cartridge and found this great pineapple drink.  And it just emerged from there. Here is the card:

Supplies Used:

Life is a Beach Cricut cartridge, pineapple drink and all layers cut at 3"

Cardstock from Michaels Value pack, DCWV Glitter Matstack, Coordinations
and Creative Memories

Stamp from My Pink Stamper Simply Sweet Occasions

Martha Stewart zig zag border punch

Misc. ribbon

Hope you are all having a wonderful weekend.  I am going back to that princess room to make a few more cards this afternoon so there will be another post later this evening or tomorrow morning.

Happy crafting, my friends!

Debut of My New Room

As promised, a short video of my new room.  It is my first attempt at a video of any kind so it is by no means good but it will give you an overview of my room.

Hope y'all like it.  Enjoy!!

Two "Shoe" Cards

I needed to make two birthday cards this week.  And decided to use shoes as the theme.  One of these cards is elegant and the other is fun but both turned out great.

The supplies used for both of these cards were items that I have had in my stash for a long time.  The Cricut cartridges used were Sentimentals for the frame, Forever Young for the high heeled shoes and Life is a Beach for the flip flops.

Enjoy the cards and I hope that I can inspire someone to create something today.  As I am entering this blog post my video is uploading to YouTube so my scrap room will be visible soon.  :)

Take care.

Hugs, Heather

Video/Pictures of my New Scraproom

Yep, I took pictures and even did a short video to show you my new scrapbook room.  And, yes, I PROMISE you will see it.  I know, I have been saying that for days, but......my battery died while shooting the video and I now have to go charge all of them to download it  :)

There will be pictures and a new card project here in a couple of hours as soon as the batteries charge.  Gives me time to do a few much needed chores around here.

Happy Wednesday.  See you all back here soon.

Rainbow Birthday Card

Good Monday morning everyone!  I hope you had a wonderful weekend.  Mine was productive and I will share pictures of the painting and moving process when it is done later this week.  I also found a few minutes to make a card for this challenge:  Child or Teen Birthday Card at Made by Momo.  The rainbow technique is one that I learned from watching Momo's videos.  Please check out her blog. She has some great inspiration.

Create A Critter Cricut cartridge,
dinosaur cut at 2"

My Pink Stamper Everyday Occasions stamp set

Misc. ribbon and wiggly eyes

Enjoy!  I am off to do some more trim painting before I go to work for the evening.  Take care, my friends.

"Let it Snow!" Card

I looked through one very small shelf and instead of organizing it like I said I was going to do I decided I needed time to play with a new stamp set that I found but hadn't used yet.  Yes, I am not usually so easily sidetracked but I seem to keep losing my focus for cleaning up and moving this stuff.  Anyhow, I know none of you want to think about Winter yet.  It is hardly into Spring and Summer has not arrived yet but my new stamp set was from Peachy Keen Stamps and was a snowman face so I just had to make a snowman card.  By the way, for those of you who had no idea, Winter is my absolute favourite season.  :)

Inside of Card:

Supplies Used:

Michaels Value Pack Pastel card base

DCWV The Glitter Cardstock Matstack

Cricut Christmas Cheer cartridge, snowman cut at 3" on blackout

Peachy Keen PK-548 1 1/4" Snowfaces

Michaels $1.50 bin "Let it Snow" stamp

Cuttlebug snowflake embossing folder

Misc. chalk, ribbon, large snowflake diecut

I think he turned out so cute but I can assure you I do not really want snow yet.  I would like a little bit of Summer first.

Have a wonderful Thursday, my friends.

Crafting Can Wait....or Not!!!

For some reason I have just not been into my craft room in the last week and a half.  Yes, I have been busy but not really THAT busy.  I don't believe I am losing interest (GASP!).  So, what's the real reason?  I *think* it is because I do not want to start something that I can not finish.  This is the BIG weekend, the one that the new room is being painted.  My things are being moved over during the week.  But I made a promise to myself that unless I love it or have a proposed use for it not one of the supplies from my space now is going to make it into the new space without being looked at.  That's a big job in and of itself, never mind the painting and the moving.  After I organize it I am having somewhat of a scrapbooking/papercrafting garage sale.  To make room and money for things that I do love to use  :)  Okay, I am out of here to do at least one shelving unit today so the task doesn't keep staring me in the face.

Oh, and if any of you are wondering, PINK won out.  It will be gorgeous and I hope to spend lots of time in there when it is finished!

Have a good Thursday, my friends!

Big hugs, Heather

To Paint or Not to Paint???

Good morning all!

Now I know you are wondering what this has to do with crafting because that is what my blog is all about.  But indirectly it does.  Our roommate moved out last Saturday.  We now have an empty third bedroom.  And my wonderful hubby wants me to make it into my scrapbooking room.  At first I did not want to do this at all as it will be a big job.  But his point is that I can craft later into the night as the light from the room I am in now bothers him as it is just off of our bedroom along with the sound of my Cricut.  So, we are moving my stuff in a couple of weeks while my hubby is on vacation.  On to the next dilemma.....the room needs painted and it is going to be painted before I move my stuff in.  Not a problem.  Another little backstory...our lease is up in a couple of months.  We are planning on staying in this apartment after that until we know where my husband's job will be taking him.  But that could be within a month or it could be six.  Todd wants to paint my room a light pink as I have always wanted a pink scrapbook room.  And I am saying just paint it what I have called "builder beige" so we won't have to paint it back when we leave.  He wants to do it for ME....so do I let him even if I only get to enjoy it for a few months or insist that it be done in beige as it will be so much less work in the long run.  What's a girl to do???  Or should I say....what's a spoiled princess to do????  LOL!!!  What would you do?

Have a great weekend all!  Happy Mother's Day to those of you celebrating.

"I Like You The Least" Challenge

This is the last challenge I got finished for the twelve challenges from Robyn, My Pink Stamper, today.  I did half - 6 of the twelve.  I may continue with the other six at a later date just to say I did them all but only the six posted here in the last two days count towards the wonderful giveaways Robyn and her sponsors have for us.  The guidelines for this challenge:  I Like You the Least, to use your least favourite Cricut cartridge on a project.  Fabulous finds was one of the first cartridges that I purchased and I think that I have used it maybe twice.  So it was my cartridge of choice for this card.  But so that I would at least enjoy what I was doing I combined it with my favourite cartridge at the moment, Create A Critter.

Here it is:

Supplies Used:

Fabulous Finds Cricut cartridge, bookplate cut at 1 1/2"

Create A Critter Cricut cartridge, pinwheel cut at 5"

Cuttlebug Traffic Jam embossing folder

My Pink Stamper Simply Sweet Occasions stamp set

Misc. paper, stickles, brads, button

This is a fun and bright card to use for a child's birthday.  Not bad for my least favourite. :)

I hope you have enjoyed all the projects I made for the challenges I chose to participate in for NSD.  I am already looking forward to next year and planning my day better to be able to spend all of it in my scraproom.

May everyone have a wonderful week!!

Shaped Card

For this easy card, I used the guidelines of the challenge posted at My Pink Stamper NSD Challenge #9 by Pink Designer Emma.  Emma is one of my followers here and I appreciate all the wonderful comments she leaves me both at my blog and on Facebook.  Please excuse the glare from the flash but I had to take these pictures later in the evening and no matter what setting the flash kept going off.

Supplies Used:

Wild Card Cricut cartridge, graduation hat cut at 7"

Michaels Value Pack cardstock

Diamond stickles

That's all that I used to create this quick and easy card.   Just going to add it to my collection as I really have no one in particular in mind to give it to at the moment, just wanted to try it.

Two Challenges in One

For this present set of box and notecards, I used the challenges found here and here.  The challenges were to make something using flowers and make something using the colours of the rainbow.  Here are my projects:

Supplies Used for the Box;

Bazzill cardstock

DCWV The Glitter Cardstock Matstack

EK Success punch

Michaels $1.50 stamp

Misc. flowers, ribbon

Supplies Used for the Cards:

Stampendous Star Lilies stamp

Derwent water colour pencils

Michaels cardstock (various value packs)

My Pink Stamper Everyday Occasions and Simply Sweet Occasions
stamp sets

Sheer white ribbon

Glitter

This was my first attempt at watercolouring.  I actually had done the 6 stamps before so for the challenge I just put the cards together and made the box.  I enjoyed trying something new but I definitely need more practice to get the watercolouring to look more like I want it to.

Take care my friends.  I may be back later on with a couple more projects.  If not, have a wonderful day!

Pink Stamper NSD Challenge #12

Good morning all!  I did a couple more challenges last night.  But who says you have to do them in order.  I picked a few of my favourite challenges and worked on them first.  I may or may not get one or two more done later today but chores are on the list first.

For this challenge, I followed the guidelines found here: Pink Stamper NSD Challenge # 12.  I have not used my newest cartridge very much so this gave me a chance to try out another one of the critters.

Supplies Used:

Create A Critter Cricut cartridge, penguin cut at 3"

My Pink Stamper Simply Sweet Occasions stamp set

Martha Stewart punch

The paper, ribbon, bling, etc. were just part of my stash that I pulled together as they matched

Thanks for looking and have a great day!  I always appreciate comments and new followers so feel free to do either.

Pink Stamper NSD Challege #1

So, the second challenge that I worked on yesterday was for this challenge:  Pink Stamper NSD Challenge #1.  During the day I knew there were going to be 12 challenges but again, I knew that I would not get them all done.  But actually on NSD I ran out of time before I had to go to work and this was the ONLY challenge I had time to do.  I am hoping to play "catch up" and finish a few more tomorrow.

Here is the card I made for my Mom.  (Sneak peek and I know she looks here...oh well.....no surprises for next Sunday  :)

"GUY CARD" for Momo's NSD Blog Challenge

Hello!  Is it as hot and humid where you are today as it is here?  The humidity is awful and there is no air conditioning yet in the apartment building.  I sure hope it breaks soon.  Okay, on to other things.

As most of you know, yesterday was National Scrapbook Day and many blogs were doing challenges and just helping give each of us some inspiration for some creative time.  I had a lot going on in my life yesterday so I knew I had to pick and choose the challenges that I could even find time to do. One of the newer blogs that I have found was having this challenge : http://madebymomo.blogspot.com/2010/05/national-scrapbooking-day-challenge.html.  It was perfect as our roommate was moving out and I wanted to do something special to welcome him to his new home.  This is the card that I made for him:

Items Used:

Just Because Cards Cricut cartridge - I cut the envelope first at Fit to Page and it then gave me the measurements for my card 6 1/4".  I cut all the layers for the card and house.  I used sticker function to cut the circles for the inside of the card and the envelope

Michaels cardstock and grossgrain ribbon

Creative Memories pens

Since making masculine cards is harder for most cardmakers, I actually thought this turned out okay.  Enjoy!

Hugs, Heather
