Winner from "6 Months til Christmas" hop & Another Reminder!

Good afternoon crafty peeps!  Is it as hot where you are is at it where I am?  We are topping 32C with humidex indexes of 38-40C.  Basically, for my US friends that is over 100F ~ HOTTER than you know where.  I hope you are all finding ways of staying cool.  This is also a long weekend for us Canadians.  We celebrate the 145th birthday of our great country on July 1st (or July 2nd when most things are closed due to the 1st being a Sunday).  So please join me and some of my fave crafty Canadian bloggers for a short hop to celebrate ~ LOTS and LOTS of awesome prizes up for grabs for just a little bit of work on your part.

I am spending part of this weekend with my BFF, Shari, finally getting that hair colouring tutorial.  And basically just staying out of the heat and colouring and/or card making.  The rest of the weekend is FREE ~ I may spend some time in my pink castle or just chilax with my hubby watching movies.

Okay, so the real reason you opened this post is to see the winner of my "stocking stuffer" ~ I used random.org to pick from the 12 comments and the winner is :

Ramblings and Reminders!

Good Friday Morning, my crafty peeps!  I do not have a paper crafting project to show you at all today.  I have spent a little bit of time in my pink castle lately but mostly just trying to get ahead with DT things.  Some changes coming up in my life which could put crafting on the back burner for a bit and I want to be ready.

I have been checking out sooooooooo many challenges that I would like to do.  But there never seems to be enough time to do them all.  Wouldn't it be nice if our everyday life (be it work, family or whatever) would not interfere with our crafting time?  LOL!!!  How many of us could literally spend hours away from everyone playing with paper and enjoying our "ME" time?  I know I could.  I think I need to spend a day doing this in the near future.  It makes me a much happier person to be around for sure.

This is a great site to visit if you want to know what challenges are going on:  Feline Playful.  I am sure there are many more sites that list challenges so please feel free to share them with me. That way I can go look at more time killing challenges...Hee!hee!

I do want to draw your attention to the challenge at Paper Playtime for the next week.....it is an "Anything Goes" challenge as long as you incorporate a sentiment.  I am on the sister design team (Die Cutting Divas) to this challenge and I haven't entered yet but hope to get something in there on the weekend.  Stay tuned for that!

And two more fun things coming up at "Princess Paper Project":

Join me and my girls Monday for the "6 Months til Christmas" blog hop.  I know there are some presents involved this month.

Join me and 10 other crafty Canadian blogger friends as we showcase our great country of Canada.  There are some wonderful Canadian companies sponsoring this hop.  A few rules to follow and you could win.....open to all wherever you are from!

Okay, that is quite enough rambling and reminders...for today anyhow.  Thanks for dropping in.  Mark your calendars for these two events.  Join some challenges this weekend.  Most of all, have fun crafting.

Until next time,

Happy Father's Day (Part 2)....and A Little Late

Good Morning, Afternoon or Evening (see this depends where you are!)  I really wanted to share with you the other Father's Day card I made for my Dad so even though it is late for this year maybe it can give you some ideas for next year...hee!hee!

Our entire family went together this year and got my Dad an electric trimmer.  My sister got the gift and I made the card.  I really should have made a larger card so that I could have included all the names (5 adults, 7 grandkids and grandkid-in-laws, 3 great-grandkids) but I worked around it.

This is me & my Dad Father's Day 2011

For his card I used a Mojo Monday sketch but once again it is too late to enter the challenge (LOL):

Inside:

RECIPE:

Card stock ~ Coredinations
~ Recollections
Patterned Paper ~ Recollections
~ Creative Memories
Cricut ~ Accent Essentials (Gear)
~ Home Decor (shooting star)
Sentiments ~ Studio G Ditto
Cuttlebug ~ Stars embossing folder
~ Swiss Dots embossing folder
Punch ~ Creative Memories
Irock studs

Glad you could drop in today.  Just a reminder of a few events coming up soon on my blog: June 25th is the "6 Months til Christmas Blog Hop" (and it involves many presents for you along the way this month) and July 1st "Canada Day Blog Hop" where myself & 10 other talented Canadian crafters will be showcasing our great country.

Until next time,  happy crafting!!

Happy Father's Day

Hello blogland.  I have been having a few issues with our computer and when it came back the software for downloading my pictures was no longer on it and I could not find the disk anywhere....I either accidentally threw it out or hid it in such a safe place that I can not find it.  My niece has the same camera and she came to my rescue with the CD yesterday.  Hence, my Father's Day cards will be a bit late but I do want to share both of them with my friends.  Today will be one and  later this week I will share the other one.

I usually only make one Father's Day card for my Dad. But this year I made a second one.  It was exciting for me to make it and to anticipate the event to come.  It was for the soon-to-be father, my son.  I added a case of his favourite drink (yes, that would be Monster.....but only the green) and gave it to him for Father's Day.

RECIPE

Card Stock ~ Recollections
Patterned Paper ~ Creative Memories
Image ~ Meljen's Designs
coloured with my Copics
Sentiment ~ Studio G
Glossy Accents
Buttons, brads and floss from "Use It Up' Inventory

Thanks for stopping in today.  This card was originally made for some challenges but because I could not post it they have expired but I wanted to share anyhow.  Have a great Father's Day and Sunday and I will see you back here soon with the card for my Dad.

Paper Playtime Challenge #76 - Vacation

Good Morning, my friends.  It's Monday morning again and the first Monday of the month to boot so that means it is time for a new challenge at Paper Playtime Die Cut design team.  Our challenge this month is to create a project using a die cutting machine with a vacation theme.  It is the time of year that we all start thinking about summer vacation.  I truthfully do not remember the last time I have gone anywhere for a vacation....maybe next year.  Our sponsors for this challenge is my own DT sister Sharon of MeeMee's Creations with two 6" X 6" paper packs from My Mind's Eye and The Scrapbooking Queen Royal Shoppe with a package of 4 Action Wobbles.  So please join us in this challenge for your chance to win.

I created the following 5" x 5" square card for this challenge:

RECIPE:

Card stock ~ Recollections (including the printed card stock
for the card base)
Patterned Paper ~ from my scraps manufacturer unknown
Cricut ~ Elegant Edges "Stamp" and shadow
cut at 4 1/4"
Cricut ~ Life is a Beach "Bon Voyage" cut at 2 1/2"
~anchor cut at 1 1/4"
Cuttlebug ~ Tiny bubbles embossing folder
Stickles ~ Crystal
Sakura white gel pen
Colorbox  chalk ink ~ Creamy brown
Flowers, buttons and embroidery floss from that never ending
"Use it Up" inventory

Thanks so much for stopping in today.  I still have not attempted to colour again with my Copic markers but maybe soon.  I was supposed to go for a tutorial from my BFF, Shari, this weekend but circumstances did not allow that to happen.  On the plus side, my pink castle is VERY clean and organized because instead of actually creating anything I have been cleaning and organizing.  Anyone want to buy some of the two photo boxes full of cards I have made?  LOL!!!

Okay, that's it for me.  Please join us at Paper Playtime this week with your vacation projects containing a die cut of some sort.

Until then,  keep crafting!
