Little Red Wagon Challenge #274 ~ Winter Blues

Good Wednesday morning (again)!  It seems like the only time I am posting is Wednesdays.  I will try to change that.

But, in the meantime, it is time for a new challenge at Little Red Wagon.  Our hostess this week is Tracy and her challenge is WINTER BLUES ~ use mostly blue on your card or project.  What a better time than Winter to use the cool colour of blue.

Lately I had made a few mostly blue cards so I decided to take this one in a different direction.  I looked up the colour teal to see if it was blue or green.  Here's the result I got:

"Teal is a low-saturated colour, a greenish-to dark medium, similar to medium green and dark cyan.  It can be created by mixing green with blue into  white base, or deepened as need with a little bit of black or gray colour" (Wikipedia)

So, since that was pretty inconclusive and most answers were it is both, I chose to use it as teal BLUE and made my card with shades of teal.

Little Red Wagon Challenge #273 ~ SHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!

Hello there.  Wow, the weeks are just flying by.  I can not believe we are into the third week of January already.  That also means Winter and the cold are going fast for those of you that don't like it ~ I myself, enjoy the Winter but don't necessarily want to prolong it either.  Okay, enough chit chat.  Let's get down to the reason you are all here.

It is Wednesday again and time for the weekly challenge at Little Red Wagon.  Our hostess for this week is Jan and she wants us to be SHHHHHHHHHHHH!!! ~ use no words, no letters and no text at all on your project.  Sounds easy, right?  If you are used to putting some kind of sentiment on your cards, it is not as easy as it sounds.  I had to really think about it.

I decided to use one of the larger stamps I had purchased a while ago (like years truthfully), coloured it up with my Copics and made it the focal point of my note card.  And I even left the inside blank leaving lots of space to write a true, old fashioned note and send it by snail mail.  Now just to figure out whom to send it to.

RECIPE:
Copic Xpress It Card Stock
Memento Tuxedo Black Ink
Image ~ Rubber Stampede
Copic Markers
Card Stock ~ Recollections
Patterned Paper ~ From my scraps
Spellbinders ~ Nestabilities Romantic Rectangles
Oval Cutter ~ Creative Memories
Corner Punch ~ Creative Memories
Tim Holtz Tea Dye Distress Ink
Wink of Stella Clear
Ribbon ~ "Use It Up" Inventory

There are two Facebook pages you need to like: Little Red Wagon for our weekly challenge updates and keeping up with our girlfriends and Princess Paper Projects, where I share all of the creative things in my life, not on my personal page so you may be missing them.  Sometimes there are contests and I always want to see what you are working on.

Thanks for dropping in today.  Come by and check out what all the other girlfriends have done and  link up your SHHH!!! project this week at Little Red Wagon.  Looking forward to seeing them all.

Have a Wonderful Wednesday.

PDE Linky Party Blue and White ~ Happy Snowman

Good Morning, my friends.  Welcome to another challenge at PDE Linky Party.  Since I only post for this DT once a month, I want you to know that there are weekly challenges that you should be visiting and playing along with all of the time.  :)  Our theme this week is BLUE AND WHITE ~ great for this cold Winter we are having and just fun colours together in general.

So, technically, I threw a little bit of purple on my card too along with white and the many shades of blue but purple uses blue as a base to make, right???  LOL!!!  I am rather obsessed with the movie Frozen, partly because it is an awesome movie and partly because my 2 1/2 year old grandson loves Olaf.  He can say Olaf now but he prefers to call him "Happy Snowman".  Yesterday while we were Skyping he wanted to sing about him too.  This is the line he quotes from Happy Summer song:

Winter's a good time to stay in and cuddle,
But put me in Summer and I'll be a.....happy snowman.

Here is my happy snowman;

Little Red Wagon Challenge #271 ~ Sparkle and Shine

Good Morning.  I hope you are having a good day so far.  It is extremely cold where I am so I am trying to stay warm.  Too bad work is getting in the way as it is forcing me to leave my nice, warm house :)

Today is Wednesday and that means a new challenge at Little Red Wagon.  I am the hostess this week and my challenge for you is to "SPARKLE AND SHINE" ~ you can interpret that any way you want.  This is the last of my "inherited" challenges from a former DT member and I chose to take it literally using a number of mediums on my card ~ glitter paper, stickles, Wink of Stella clear pen and lots of bling ~ resulting in a card that truly sparkles and shines.

A couple of things ~ first, I would like to welcome two new girlfriends to our team, Collette and Susie.  Be sure you visit their blogs, see their take on the challenge and leave them some love.  Second, Little Red Wagon has started a Facebook page.  Come like us HERE and post your creations for our challenges too.

Glad you could come by once again today.  Join us this week at Little Red Wagon for your chance to SPARKLE AND SHINE.  I look forward to visiting and seeing your creations.

First Challenge at Bimini Moose

Good morning.  Well, today marks the first challenge ever for a new design team that I am on.  It is called Bimini Moose.  So what is Bimini Moose, you ask?  It is a blog and bi weekly challenge dedicated to project life pocket scrap booking.

I have not done much of this style of scrap booking but decided a while ago that I would use a Project Life binder that is 6" x 8" for my grandchildren.  I bought 2 in a blue colour and 2 in a dark pink colour.  Here is the blue one:

I bought a variety pack of pages ~ some are the whole sheet, some are 4 pockets of 3" x 4", others are one 4" x 6" either on top or bottom with two 3" x 4", and some are just two 4" x 6" pockets.

From there, I started organizing my pictures and card stock to use.  I have about 10 pages done in my grandson's book (He is 2 1/2 now).  I do enjoy this style of scrap booking but not sure if it goes any faster for me.  I believe I may be over thinking it.  "JUST DO IT" should be my new motto to get these pages done.  Here is one of my fave pages in his book:

I am glad I am on this new team and am going to be challenged to get some pages done.  The details you need to know for the challenges:

BI-WEEKLY EVERY TUESDAY
BEGINNING TODAY, JAN. 6, 2015

ALWAYS "ANYTHING GOES"

OCCASIONALLY THERE WILL BE AN
OPTIONAL TWIST

We would love for you to become a follower of Bimini Moose and also to like our Facebook page HERE whether you are a beginner at this type of scrap booking or whether you have been doing it forever.  We want to see your layouts in our challenges and on our Facebook page.

Thanks for dropping by.  Keep checking back as I am going to be posting more than last year, I promise!
