Little Red Wagon Challenge #326 ~ They Say It's Your Birthday

Hey there.  Another week has passed and it is Wednesday again.  Time for a new challenge at Little Red Wagon.  It is Jan's turn to hostess and her theme is all about birthdays ~ any crafting project that applies to birthdays ~ a card, layout, invitation, gift bag, etc.

I have a confession to make about the card I am about to show you.  I made it on Sunday at a Stampin' Up card class and since it fit the theme (and I kinda ran out of time to design something of my own) I decided to use it.  It's a great card for a birthday theme.  It was designed by Stampin' Up demonstrator Grace Alton who put on a wonderful class.  Obviously all supplies are Stampin' Up.

And Grace is a woman after my own heart as we even finished the inside:

Thanks for dropping by.  Make sure you visit Little Red Wagon to check out what all of the other girlfriends have made for our birthday theme and link up a project of your own.

Have a great day!!

Little Red Wagon Challenge #325 ~ Fairy Nice!

Good morning!  It's time for a new challenge at Little Red Wagon and I am your hostess this week.  My challenge is entitled "FAIRY NICE" ~ I want to see a fairy on your projects.  This came about as I was contemplating themes for the year's challenges and am a Disney Tinkerbell fan.

This is "Snowball Fairy" by Kraftin' Kimmie.  and she is spreading her fairy dust on both the outside and inside of the card along with her wishes.  She is coloured with Copics.  Crystal Snow has been added to her wings.  Patterned paper is BoBunny Altitude.  Embellishments from my stash.

Thanks for visiting.  Please come on over to Little Red Wagon blog and check out what the other girlfriends have made for my challenge.  And then enter a creative project of your own featuring a fairy.  Looking forward to seeing what you all create.

PDE Linky Party ~ Always Anything Goes!

Welcome to a new challenge at PDE Linky Party where it is always "ANYTHING GOES".  I have a pretty special post to share with you today and it involves something I made and something my Mom made as well.  My Mom has a small prayer shawl ministry (if you want to know a little about prayer shawl ministries you can see some of the details HERE) and I make the tags to go along with them.  This particular shawl and tag were made for my cousin's wedding which was a destination wedding on the beach.

Here is the shawl that Mom crocheted:

And here is the tag that went along with it:

I used Tim Holtz mini distress inks in shades of blue and green to make the colours on the tag.  Stamps were from Your Next Stamp and Stampin' Up stamped with Versamark and embossed with white. Embellishments of pearls and flowers were from my stash.

Glad you were able to drop by to see this special post by both my Mom and I.  I know I have some other tags to show you in the future that I have made for her ministry.  Join us at PDE Linky Party with your projects this week.

Little Red Wagon Challenge #324 ~ Do You Want to Build A Snowman???

Good day. Well, we did not have much cold and snowy weather yet this Winter but as I type this it is snowing and blowing like crazy out there (I am prescheduling my blog post ~ it may be a bright, sunny day by the time this posts) so it is appropriate that Carolyn our hostess this week at Little Red Wagon wants to see "DO YOU WANT TO BUILD A SNOWMAN?" Use a snowman on your project.  As a side note, every time I hear this phrase it reminds me of my 3 year old grandson.  He loved the movie Frozen and one of the first lines he learned from it was "Winter's a good time to stay in and cuddle, but put me in Summer and I'll be a.....HAPPY SNOWMAN."  We would say the first part and he would say "...appy ..nowman" (consonants were dropped as he was pretty little).  Okay, back to the present.....

I used a stamp from Whimsy Meljen's Designs Collection called "Bundled Little Snowboy", coloured with my Copics.  Card stock is Recollections, patterned paper is Echo Park "Winter Park" (about 3 year old now and it is totally used up after this card as I liked it so much).  Snowflake punch is Martha Stewart, button and twine from Michael's $1.50 bin.  Once again all items I have had in my stash.  I think it is almost time for me to treat myself to something new as I have been faithfully using up things on my cards.

Thanks for dropping by today.  Won't you join us at Little Red Wagon and check out what all of the other girlfriends have made.  After their inspiration, come back and link up a snowman project of your own.

Have a great day!!!

Little Red Wagon Challenge #323 ~ Thanks!!!

Hello.  It's our first challenge for 2016 at Little Red Wagon.  Our wonderful hostess for this challenge is Mandy and she is saying "THANKS!"  She wants to see your projects full of gratitude, our thank you cards.  As kids I remember the week after Christmas when we were off of school we had to write thank you notes to all of our relatives who had given us gifts at Christmas.  And then we actually put a stamp on them and sent them in the mail. This seems to be a dying art in this age of computers as we just email or verbally say thank you and that is it.  But it is so nice to receive a written thank you for a gift, if someone has had you to dinner at their house or just a thank you for being my friend.  What a great pick me up that would be.  I am vowing here and now that I will be better at doing that this year.  I am off to a good start as here is the first card to send out.

I kept things CAS especially for me with no colouring involved on this card.  Sentiment stamp is from Stampendous and I have had it since I made cards for my daughter-in-law to send out from her wedding shower.  Paper is Kaisercraft.  Punches are EK Success and Martha Stewart.  Bling and twine are from my stash.
