Little Red Wagon Challenge #357 ~ Let's Get Inky!

Hello all!  New challenge day at Little Red Wagon.  The hostess this week is Mandy and she wants to see you use your inks on your projects for more than just sentiments.

I have been experimenting using inks as backgrounds and have been looking for interesting colour combinations as well.  This uses Tim Holtz mini distress inks in Seedless Preserves, Faded Jeans and Weathered Wood.  It makes a great night sky background for the image from Kraftin' Kimmie.  This particular set, Great Adventures, is retired but check out all the amazing stamps in her shop.  I coloured him with Copic markers, stamped a moon and added a few star sequins to the sky.  The inside sentiment by Hampton Arts is stamped with Hello Honey by Stamping Up.  Birthday sentiment is My Pink Stamper stamped with Blackberry Bliss, again Stampin' Up.  This card is winging its way in the mail as we speak to my oldest grandson who turns 4 next week.  Every time we end our Skype conversations we say "Love you to the Moon and Back" so I could not resist this stamp.  And I am sure I will put it in his sister's card too in November.

PDE Linky Party ~ Bold, Bright Colours

Good morning.  Yeah for Friday.  And yeah for the start of a new challenge on the PDE Linky Party blog. Our theme this week is BOLD, BRIGHT COLOURS.  Now this is open to your own interpretation because each of us may have something different in mind.  I first thought about going with primary colours only but after putting the card I am about to show you together I thought these colours also fit the theme.

This was made for a co-worker (same girl as Wednesday's post ~ so happy they support my small business) on her anniversary.  Stamp is from Kraftin' Kimmie's set called "Sending All My Love".  Patterned paper is Echo Park I Love Sunshine.  Wood veneers are Simple Stories Enchanted.

So glad you came by once again today and joined me.  How about you head on over to PDE Linky Party, check out all the amazing inspiration from Janis and her crew, then join the party yourself with something in bold, bright colours???

Have a great day today and a wonderful weekend.

Little Red Wagon Challenge #356 ~ Birthdays

Hello my friends.  It's that time of week ~ Wednesday~ where we begin a new challenge at Little Red Wagon.  Donna is our hostess and she has chosen the theme HAPPY BIRTHDAY.  It is always good to have a few extra of these cards in your stash in case you need one in a hurry.

I made this birthday card as a special order for one of my co-workers.  The digi is from Redonkulous Designs and has been on my computer forever but never coloured up.  Printed paper is from my scraps, possibly BoBunny.  Embellishments again were all in my stash so this card used up some of the many supplies I had on the go without anything new.  Yeah for that!

Thanks for dropping by.  Head on over to Little Red Wagon, check out what the other girlfriends have made and link up a birthday project of your own.

PDE Linky Party ~ Tags

Morning once again.  I am up to two posts a week now for design team commitments; do we hear three so I can share some stuff I do for my business or myself??  :)  Ya never know.

It's Friday and that means a new challenge theme at PDE Linky Party and this week our theme is TAGS.  Tags are a great addition to a gift or even to add to a card.  And always good to have some on hand when needed.  I chose to make a Christmas tag and am glad that is one less to make when I get rushed.

Tag is precut from Recollections and inked up with Tea Dye, Antique Linen and Vintage Photo distress inks.  Poinsettia stamp and Merry Christmas stamps are both Hero Arts that I have had in my stash for ages.  I coloured the poinsettia with my Copic markers.  Spellbinders Layered Poinsettia and Foliage are added to the bottom of the tag to give it some dimension.  Ribbon, button and twine and it's good to go.

Thanks for coming by.  Head on over to PDE Linky Party to see the fantastic tags my fellow design team members created and while you are there why not link up a tag of your own.

Happy Friday and enjoy your weekend.

Little Red Wagon Challenge #355 ~ Surf's Up! (Tropical Theme)

Well good morning.  And the first thing I am going to write this morning is a disclaimer that I can no longer read....LOL!!! Or the heat has got to my brain as we have had temperatures in the 90ies for days. Or maybe I just wrote it down wrong.  Okay, now that you have the point, it is Wednesday and time for another new challenge at Little Red Wagon.  Our hostess this week is Brenda and her theme is "Surf's Up" ~ and the subtitle was tropical theme.  She wants to see surfing or ocean type scenes with mermaids on your makes. (ETA:I told the girlfriends before hand that I had messed up the theme and when I looked this morning Brenda had written "to make it easier let's just go with anything tropical" ~ thanks my friend for rectifying my goof.)

In my planner I had only written tropical theme and to me tropical theme means oceans, pineapples and flowers.  I went on a hunt for a hibiscus flower as it is one of my favourites.  I found a number of freebie digital stamps at Beccy's Place and this was the one I chose.  It is also a bit different than my usual style as it is a true image and not cartoony or cutesy.  I coloured it up with my Copic markers and added plain and textured card stock, a sentiment, some twine and a couple of sequins.  I like how it turned out and am going to try a few more of the flower images.

Thanks for dropping by.  I hope to see you at Little Red Wagon to see the inspiration from the other girlfriends (hope they got it right...LOL!) and see a tropical project of your own.

Enjoy your day!

PDE Linky Party ~ Back to School

Good morning and Happy Friday!   It's that time of week for a new challenge at PDE Linky Party and this week we want to see your "BACK TO SCHOOL" projects.  Now the time for going back to school varies from country to country, state to state and province to province.  Here in Ontario most schools don't start back until after the Labour Day holiday.  So, relax kids when you see this, you still have about 3 weeks of vacation time left.

This is my take on the challenge:

Who doesn't need lots of places to jot down things when they are at school?  Notebook is a small composition book (3 x 4 1/2 inches) covered first with pink card stock and then washi tape.  Flags are plastic coated paper clips with washi tape "flags".  The pen is a mini Ink Joy in green ink with a strip of washi tape wrapped around it to complete the set.

Thanks for coming by once again.  Head on over to see the inspiration from the other design team members at PDE Linky Party and while you are there, link up a BACK TO SCHOOL project of your own.

Have a wonderful weekend.  Be sure to visit me again soon.

Little Red Wagon Challenge #354 ~ In Sympathy

Good morning.  Today marks a new challenge at Little Red Wagon and Jan is our hostess this week.  Her theme ~ IN SYMPATHY ~ and, in her own words, "hate to make them but they are nice to have".  And let's face it, the last thing you usually want to do when you need one of these cards is pull out your craft supplies so they are good to have in your stash when needed.

All supplies for this card were Stampin' Up except the white card stock and the sentiment.  Colours of ink are Blackberry Bliss and Mossy Meadow.  Stamp set and Framelits are the Wondrous Wreath set. Sentiment is from CARDZ TV Encouraging Thoughts.

C'mon over to Little Red Wagon, check out what the other girlfriends have made and then link up a sympathy card of your own.

Have a great day!!

We're Back!!!! ~ PDE Linky Parties

Good morning.  As the title says....."We're Back!"  PDE Linky Party that is, administered by my friend Janis and her crew.  I am back on the design team.  But one change....a smaller design team, weekly projects every Friday and they follow a theme.  Remember to check out my blog EVERY Friday as I will be posting something new.

Today's theme is the following sketch.  Easy, peasy as I absolutely love to have a starting point for my cards.

Here is my take.  I used a retired stamp made by Your Next Stamp from the Darling Diva line called Aubrey (Note to Self: Stamp is already retired and never been used, time to use what you have...LOL!), coloured her up with my beloved Copic markers and used patterned paper from Simple Stories Carpe Diem.

A close up of Aubrey:

I noticed that both challenge cards this week had a modern theme as both my girls were using cell phones (The other one is HERE).  If you know someone who may be interested in buying either one let me know by a comment or an email as they are available.

Come join us at PDE Linky Party using the above sketch this week to welcome us back.

Have a great Friday and a wonderful weekend.

Little Red Wagon Challenge #353 ~ CASE A Card

Hello everyone.  Welcome to a new challenge at Little Red Wagon.  It is my turn to hostess and my theme title is "CASE A Card".  Now are you all familiar with what that means?  CASEing a card basically means "copy and share everything" or as some people say "copy and steal everything".  So my challenge is for you to copy a card from someone that inspires you.  Make sure you give credit to the person you have cased, otherwise it really is just stealing.

There are many people in the crafting world that I am inspired by.  I looked through a number of blogs and decided I would use my friend and former Little Red Wagon girlfriend, Tracy  And the card I chose to case was this one:

There was just something about the layout and the colours that truly inspired me.  Here's my version:

I used one of my favourite retired stamp sets from Kraftin' Kimmie called Oh Snap!, coloured her up with Copics and paired her with paper from Echo Park Here and Now.  A close up of the image:

So thanks for dropping by today.  I hope you will join us at Little Red Wagon, check out what the other girlfriends have CASEd and link up a CASEd card of your own from someone who inspires you.  I am looking forward to seeing what you all create.

Have a great day!
